When can I expect a decision on my application?

The Faculty of Engineering works with our Departments and Schools, as well as Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs to review all graduate applications. We are committed to a fair and thorough review process with the goal of providing students with an admission decision in timely manner.

Completed applications will be reviewed approximately 8-10 weeks from the application deadline. However, the time required for us to complete our review process and make decisions may vary depending on the circumstance or volume of applications at that time.  We ask that you defer from contacting us for an update on your application status until at least 10 weeks after the application deadline for the term for which you have applied for admission.

If you have applied to a research program (MASc or PhD program), a faculty member must be willing to act as your supervisor in order for you to receive an offer of admission. Your application file will be made available to all faculty members who are affiliated with the program to which you have applied. Faculty members can then access and review your application documentation and contact you if needed.

Once an admission decision has been made, applicants will receive an email and an admission decision will appear in Quest. Admitted students can then view and print our electronic offer of admission letter. Visit the Quest Graduate Applicant page for links to some helpful step-by-step instructions on how to navigate through Quest.

Please visit your program page for application deadlines.
