As part of the Water Institute's WaterTalks lecture series, John Cherry, Distinguished Professor Emeritus, Department Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Waterloo, Leader of the Groundwater Project, Recipient of the 2020 Stockholm Water Prize and Lee Kwan Yew Water Prize, 2016 presents: Groundwater is the Key to a Sustainable Earth.

The Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) has four main thematic research areas; Smart and Function Materials, Connected Devices, Next Generation Energy Systems and Therapeutics and Theranostics. To showcase the work going on within these areas, WIN will be holding Thematic Seminars featuring our members and their research group members.

This month's WIN Thematic Seminar will highlight the Smart & Functional Materials theme with research presented by Atefeh Ghorbani and Professor Hany Aziz from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.

The Role of an Elder

On Wednesday January 25, 2033 at 12:45pm in the Auditorium, Elder In Residence William Woodworth of the Bear Clan, Mohawk, Six Nations of the Grand River. will be speaking on the role and nature of a native Elder based on his experience with Chief Jacob Thomas, perhaps the most important Haudenosaunee Elder of the twentieth century.

His new role at the School of Architecture is to offer teaching and counselling to students and faculty from the native perspective.
