A professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering has been reappointed as Waterloo Engineering's Associate Dean, Undergraduate Studies for another term.

Dr. Mary Wells, Dean of Engineering, announced the re-appointment of Dr. Jason Grove, whose new term runs from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2028.

Throughout his current term, Grove has provided steady, practical leadership across Waterloo Engineering's undergraduate programs and services. He led a new structure for the Engineering Undergraduate Office (EUGO) and oversaw the integration of Biomedical Engineering and Systems Design Engineering into the First Year Office, strengthening coordination and support for students at the start of their studies. He also worked with the Registrar's Office on the implementation of the undergraduate calendar software, Kuali, and partnered with Engineering Computing to develop the Student Block system (SEMS). Under his leadership, the undergraduate website was redesigned to better serve current and future students, and a dedicated advising resource site was launched. More recently, Grove and the EUGO team completed a review of recruitment and admissions practices and implemented updated academic progression rules, effective fall 2025.

Wells thanked Grove for his continued service and said she looks forward to continuing to work with him in his new term. Visit Dr. Jason Grove's profile to learn more about his work in the Department of Chemical Engineering.
