Four Waterloo Engineering researchers have been awarded close to $5 million through the Canada Research Chairs (CRC) Program to support transformative research.
Among the recipients are Waterloo Engineering professors Dr. Duane Cronin, Dr. David Fortin, Dr. Evelyn Yim and Dr. Mahla Poudineh.
Cronin, a mechanical and mechatronics engineering professor, was named Tier 1 CRC in Trauma Biomechanics and Injury Prevention for his work on computational human body models.
Fortin, an architecture professor, was appointed Tier 1 CRC in Critical Relationalism and Design to integrate Indigenous-defined perspectives into architectural design.
Yim, a chemical engineering professor, received a Tier 1 CRC in Nanomaterials for Regenerative Medicine for her research on engineered biomaterials.
Poudineh, an electrical and computer engineering professor, was named Tier 2 CRC in Health Monitoring BioNano Devices for her work on biosensing and diagnostic devices.
Go to Six Waterloo researchers receive more than $7.5 million for the full story.
Go to Prof Evelyn Yim is designated as an NSERC Canada Research Chair for more information on Dr. Yim's appointment.
