Sherman Shen, an electrical and computer engineering professor, is the 2019 recipient of the IEEE Canada R.A. Fessenden Silver Medal.
Established in 2000, the medal is awarded to outstanding Canadian engineers for their important contributions
Shen is internationally recognized for his ground-breaking contributions in the area of wireless communication networks.
Honoured in 2017 with the designation of University Professor, Shen is a fellow of the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE), The Canadian Academy of Engineering and the Engineering Institute of Canada.
He will be presented with the IEEE medal in May at the IEEE Canada Awards Gala.
