Student Life- Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering

Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering Graduate Association

All registered graduate students in the MME department are considered members of MMEGA

What is MMEGA?

MMEGA is the graduate student association for all MME graduate students. We represent MME grads at the graduate student association (GSA) level and at the MME department level where we seek the best interest of MME grad students. We also aim to promote interactions between all MME graduate students through a variety of event all year round (be on the lookout for them!).

Role of MMEGA:

  • Promote social interaction among members, particularly between different research groups and M.Eng students.
  • Work closely with our faculty and staff to ensure MME grad students' concerns are considered (academic, administrative, and otherwise).
  • Participate in the affairs and development of policies affecting graduate students at the University of Waterloo.

A message from the President- Pooriya Kazemzadeh-Heris

“Hello and Welcome to the graduate-level MME programs’ students here at the University of Waterloo. I hope you enjoy your journey here, gain useful skills and experience a memorable lifestyle. No matter which program you are in, Ph.D., MASc, or M.Eng, MMEGA tries to enhance graduate life quality by holding different casual and educational events. MMEGA also tries to improve communication within the department and introduce the services provided by the department to you. As all the graduate students are considered members of our association, we hope to see you at our events and on our social media. ”

Student Life

The student experience at Waterloo Engineering goes far beyond work, lectures, and studying. We have an exciting and energetic community of students who love to work hard and play even harder. You can race a dragonboat, join a varsity team, become a leader — whatever your interests, you’ll be in good company.
