Delightful selection of Chamber Ensemble music. Each group consists of 3 to 5 members, and this term we even have a brass ensemble in addition to the usual string ensembles. Reception afterwards.
Known for the passion and brilliance of their performances, Duo Concertante (Nancy Dahn, violin, and Timothy Steeves, piano) will be performing two Schubert pieces and Incarnation, a specially commissioned piece by Chan Ka Nin.

Well known local performers Mary-Catherine McNinch-Pazzano (jazz vocalist) and Mike Grace (bass) will perform a selection of classic jazz music. See Mary-Catherine's website for more information on their performances.
Winner of 24 piano competitions, Mauro Bertoli is a well-known Italian/Canadian pianist who is currently based at Carleton University in Ottawa. He is both a solo performer and an accomplished chamber musician. Music in this concert will include two "Intermezzo" pieces composed by Brahms, Poulenc's "Trois Novelette", and Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue".

The University of Waterloo Department of Music presents a Music Symposium to all students (current and prospective), staff, faculty and members of the community. The department has invited Dr. Joshua D. Pilzer and Dr. Trichy Sankaran to give a keynote presentation and a lecture demonstration.
