Living-Learning program

If you are interested in Music or Peace and Conflict Studies as a possible future subject of major interest, you may apply to be part of one of Grebel’s Living-Learning programs with other students who share your program. A limited number of spaces are available.

Why be part of a Living-Learning program?

Living-Learning program logoExperience the best of both worlds: be part of a diverse residence community of 142 students from all faculties and programs, while enjoying the benefits of growing with a small group of Music or Peace and Conflict Studies students and faculty. You will participate in academic events, benefit from the experience of peer leaders as you plan your goals, and make a difference as you share what you are learning with the wider Grebel community.


Music Living-Learning

In Grebel's Music Living-Learning program, you will:

  • live with other students who are interested in Music.
  • get to know Music faculty and staff outside class.
  • Learn from the experiences of upper year Music students. Find out about courses, activities, and opportunities.
  • Participate in discussions about music, culture, theory, and more.
  • Be part of various musical productions, programs, and activities.

PACS Living-Learning

In Grebel's Peace and Conflict Living-Learning program, you will:

  • Live with other students who are interested in Peace and Conflict Studies.
  • Engage in dynamic discussions around conflict resolution, social justice issues, global affairs, personal implications, and more.
  • Participate in projects and events that bring awareness and make a difference.
  • Get to know faculty from the Peace and Conflict Studies department through activities, discussions and project planning.
  • Learn from the experiences of upper year PACS students. Discuss elements of Grebel’s PACS program, course offerings, projects, etc.

    How do I apply to be part of a living-learning program?

    1. Apply to the University of Waterloo.
    2. Follow the process to apply to live at Conrad Grebel. Be sure to indicate your interest in the Living-Learning Community on the application.
