On Sunday, April 12, 2026, Conrad Grebel University College recognized graduating students at the annual Convocation Service. This tradition invites students, families, faculty, and staff to celebrate the achievements of students who connected with Grebel at any time during their studies.
What happens when a university course invites students to produce creative works that engage difference constructively? On the University of Waterloo campus, in fall 2025, fourteen undergraduate students chose to tackle division intentionally, through a new interdisciplinary course, PACS 302/THPERF 490: Relational Aesthetics Towards Dialogue.
In late March, a group of Conrad Grebel University College students and staff sat around a roaring fire in a tent near Victoria Park in Kitchener. This visit was the culmination of a winter term Grebel book club focused on the life story of Clarence Cachagee, founder of Crow Shield Lodge.
Each year, as a much-anticipated tradition, several graduating students are invited to offer reflections on their time at Conrad Grebel University College. This year, four students spoke at Community Supper, sharing their memories, stories, and life lessons with 200 classmates, roommates, staff, and faculty. Four others spoke at the End-of-Term Chapel, tracing their faith journeys and the ways Grebel changed them.
How do you create a safe, welcoming space that includes unsafe opinions? How can I have productive conversations on this issue? What does the original Hebrew in Genesis say about gender? These questions, and so many more, prompted thoughtful discussion at Conrad Grebel University College in mid-March.
Undergraduate students from a range of culture-related programs in the Faculty of Arts gathered on March 5 for Culture Fest, to share research that they had completed for one of their classes. There were 10 presentations, spanning a great variety of topics. Each student had three minutes, supported by two slides, to explain their research, followed by time for questions from a receptive audience. The presentations were rich and diverse, prompting lively discussions during the informal social time that concluded the event.
Imagine the dreams that become possible when financial barriers are removed for students. Senator V. Peter Harder (BA 1975, Hon. LLD 2005) has committed $50,000 annually to support University of Waterloo undergraduate and graduate students connected to Conrad Grebel University College who are pursuing international learning opportunities. His advice is simple: “Think global. Global literacy is something you need to experience, not just study.”
While they knew that living at Grebel meant that they would be paired with a roommate, Jared and Kyle never expected to get along so well. After a full term at Grebel, Jared and Kyle have immersed themselves in the community and created a social space in their room.
Conrad Grebel University College was buzzing with music and conversation on November 29, 2025, as friends and family of Dr. Tom Lee joined together toward a shared purpose of celebrating Tom while also fundraising for the Kindred Credit Union Centre for Peace Advancement.
Uniting campers in song and harmony, OMMC provides an inclusive two-week camp experience for teens, while developing musical and leadership skills, and exploring questions of faith. Campers are encouraged to carry these skills back to their churches and communities.
