Conrad Grebel University College at the University of Waterloo invites applications for a part-time (.6 FTE) definite term teaching position in Peace and Conflict Studies that involves teaching a total of four undergraduate and graduate courses with some service to the department. 

The successful candidate will have general teaching and scholarship expertise in Peace and Conflict Studies and ability to teach PACS 603, one of PACS 201/203 online, and two of  PACS 315/327/ 335, with two courses in each term respectively (Fall 2026 and Winter 2027)  accompanied by prorated service to the department, such as supervising internship placements, student independent research, and attending department events.  

The appointment will begin August 25, 2026. Applications due May 15, 2026.

Position Description  

The position is based in Conrad Grebel University College’s Department of Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Waterloo. This is a part-time, definite term lecturer contract position that will require teaching in both the undergraduate and graduate programs and some service to the department. 

Faculty Position Profile and Qualifications 

Faculty members are expected to demonstrate strong teaching skills. The successful applicant will have teaching and research expertise in Peace and Conflict Studies or a closely related discipline. 

Candidates must have a completed PhD.  Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD in Conflict Resolution, Peace Studies or a closely related discipline.
