SOMMeRS is a celebration of over 23 years of medical microrobotics research
with pioneers in the field. The symposium will shine a spotlight on the
growing multidisciplinary field of medical nano/microrobotics in our
community at Waterloo and neighbouring cities in Southern Ontario. This is a
great opportunity for active researchers in microrobotics and related topics
to connect and share their progress and challenges.

The IEEE AP-S, MMT-S, EMC University of Waterloo student chapters are hosting a special IEEE AP-S Distinguished Lecturer Series featuring four back-to-back technical talks on antennas, electromagnetics, radar, RF systems, and applied electromagnetics.

The purpose of this symposium is to bring faculty members from across campus together to share their research activities, highlight their expertise, network with others, make connections, build collaborations, and much more. All involved in all types of microbial research including students, research associates, researchers, and faculty are invited.

Participants will learn how to recognize common decision traps, separate real market signals from polite feedback, and think more clearly about what to test before building, selling, or scaling further.

The session is led by Vivian Wang, an MBET graduate student at the Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business and founder of Growth Partner AI, which was recently recognized as part of Scale Up Canada’s Waterloo 50.

SCWIST, in partnership with NextGenMen, invites participants to join Allies in Action: Engaging Men and Boys for Safer STEM Workplaces, a full-day, in-person workshop in Waterloo designed to mobilize men, boys, and gender-diverse participants as active allies in preventing and responding to gender-based violence (GBV) in STEM. The workshop moves beyond awareness to action, providing practical tools and strategies for participants to foster safer and more inclusive environments within their organizations and communities.
