FIRST LEGO League - West Ontario Provincials

The University of Waterloo is proud to host the FIRST LEGO League's first-ever West Ontario Provincials. This year's challenge is "Senior Solutions", asking students to investigate new ways to help seniors stay independent, engaged, and connected. Winners will compete at the World Championships in St. Louis, Missouri or at one of the International Open Championships (held this year in Germany, Florida, and California).

CelluForce-Waterloo Design Competition

The inaugural CelluForce-Waterloo Design Competition will feature 20 teams of third-year nanotechnology engineering students presenting innovative applications of nanocrystalline cellulose (NCC). Used for a wide variety of consumer and industrial products in sectors ranging from healthcare and cosmetics to energy storage and generation, NCC technology offers considerable benefit to our world.

FIRST Robotics Waterloo Regional

The University of Waterloo plays host to over 30 FIRST Robotics Competition teams whose robots will compete for their schools and the companies that support them. In the heart of Waterloo’s world-class high-tech corridor, teams will get a chance at a berth at the FRC World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri. Come join the best of the best in engineering compete in the most intense robotic sporting event on earth.

Baja SAE Team unveils 2012 vehicle

2012 Baja SAE Vehicle

On Tuesday, April 3, the University of Waterloo's Baja SAE design team unveiled their 2012 all-terrain vehicle in Engineering's Student Design Centre. Designed over the Spring and Fall 2011 school terms and constructed between January and March, the car will take part in a competition in Portland, Oregon, from May 2-5, 2012.

TD Walter Bean Visiting Professorship in the Environment

TD logoThe visiting professorship was founded in 1992 by the late Walter Bean, who was president of Waterloo Trust until its merger with Canada Trust in 1968. The professorship seeks to promote a legacy of community involvement and commitment to youth, education and community, and involves uWaterloo's faculties of Engineering, Environment and Science.
