ENGINEERING INTERNATIONAL FAIR - NOVEMBER 19-21, 2019

To celebrate International Education Week, the Faculty of Engineering is hosting a series of events open to all faculty, staff and students. You are welcome to sign up for one or all events that appeal to you. The goal of this fair is to celebrate the diverse cultures, ethnicities and backgrounds that exist within the Faculty.

Students and alumni are invited to participate in an exclusive Office Hour with engineering alumnus Omer Qadri (BASc '11, Electrical Engineering), Program Designer & Workshop Facilitator at the MAX Youth Fellowship Program.

Through interactive exercises and discussions, the Men’s Circle Workshop will explore some of the ways in which men can become leaders in creating a safer campus for everyone.

Join Michele Romanow (Dragon on CBC's Dragons' Den and President of Clearbanc) and Andrew D'Souza, BASc '08, SYDE, (CEO of Clearbanc, one of Canada's fastest-growing companies) for a captivating talk on how to accelerate your career after university. This lunchtime talk will have complimentary pizza, and is open to all Waterloo students, faculty, alumni and staff!

Join us at the Student Life Centre in the Great Hall to celebrate your milestone achievement! The reception starts right after the convocation ceremony.

Come out for an in-depth discussion of the issues of bias in AI 

As the capabilities of artificial intelligence continue to expand at an increasing rate, it becomes more prevalent in our everyday lives. We now rely on AI for not only for menial quantitative labour, but are also entrusting it with complex qualitative tasks in fields that hold significant impact over the lives of human beings.

The tradition continues on July 12, 2019 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm to celebrate Engineering Day with our incredible community of students, alumni, professors and staff. This year's activities will include a colour throw (wear a white t-shirt!), BBQ featuring the famous 'Boggan Burgers, free treats and refreshments including purple Koolaid as well as soft-serve ice cream and popcorn, a photo booth, The Tool and The Tool Bearers, and so much more!
