Waterloo Engineering students and alumni are invited to participate in an exclusive virtual Office Hour with Waterloo Engineering alumnus Harrison Lung (BASc '04, Computer Engineering), Partner of Portfolio Value Creation at Siris Capital Group.
During this Office Hour, Harrison Lung will talk about his unique career journey since graduating from the computer engineering program at the University of Waterloo. Harrison will discuss the insights and lessons learned along his career path during several transitions: he moved from a student to an engineer at Bell Canada, to his work as management and strategy consultant at Accenture and then as a partner at McKinsey in Asia and the US – working in over 20+ countries, and then to his most recent move to Siris Capital Group, a private equity firm that has invested several billion dollars in mission-critical products and services across the tech and telecom landscape.

Biography
Harrison
Lung
joined
Siris
in
2021
as
partner
leading
the
firm’s
value
creation
practice.
Mr.
Lung
works
with
Siris
leadership
to
bring
value
creation
best
practices
to
the
operations
of
the
firm
and
its
portfolio
companies
across
the
range
of
value
creation
activities
and
partners
with
investment
teams,
portfolio
management
teams
and
operating
professionals
to
identify,
advise,
prioritize
and
execute
on
value
creation
initiatives
across
the
entire
deal
lifecycle.
Prior
to
joining
Siris,
Mr.
Lung
was
a
partner
at
McKinsey
and
Company,
and
a
leader
in
their
technology,
telecom
and
digital
practices
in
North
America
and
Asia,
working
with
technology
providers
across
the
entire
value
chain
and
technology
buyers
on
their
strategic
agenda.
He
has
also
worked
at
Accenture’s
mobile
technology
group
and
was
a
technical
architect
at
Bell
Mobility
and
Sprint
Canada
(now
Rogers
Communications).
He
is
an
industry
thought
leader,
has
published
numerous
articles
and
been
a
frequent
speaker
and
panel
moderator
at
various
technology
conferences.
Mr.
Lung
received
his
undergraduate
degree
in
Computer
Engineering
from
the
University
of
Waterloo
and
dual
M.B.A.
degrees
from
Cornell
University
(Johnson
Graduate
School
of
Management)
and
Queen’s
University
(Smith
School
of
Business).
