Humans are unique in our ability to create and use advanced tools; understanding the dynamic synergies between humans and their tools is a long-term goal of our research. Join us for a special seminar presentation with Dr. John McPhee, Professor, Systems Design Engineering, Canada Research
Chair in System Dynamics.
To tackle this challenge, we develop system dynamic models of biomechatronic systems that include both the neuro-musculoskeletal dynamics of the human user and the physics of wearable robots and sports equipment. These integrated human-machine models are used to create predictive dynamic simulations and model-based controllers, which support the optimization of human performance and design of the machine.
