Abstract

The Waterloo Institute of Sustainable Energy (WISE) is pleased to host Professor Madjid Soltani, who completed his PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo, to discuss his work with a new wind-catcher design and the study in which it has been implemented.

Dr. Madjid Soltani, Post Doctoral Fellow, Johns Hopkins University and Director, Computational Medicine Institute (CMI) at KNT University of Technology and Ministry of Health, Iran.

A professor of integrated water resources management at the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in Delft, The Netherlands and professor at Delft University of Technology, we welcome van der Zaag as part of our ongoing WaterTalks lecture series.

ABSTRACT: Human civilization has been driven by harvest and utilization of solar energy. Developing better technologies leading to more effective energy harvest and utilization is being emerged as one of the most essential research themes.

The Waterloo Commercialization Office (WatCo) offers commercialization services and expertise to package and convert research innovations into commercially viable products and services.

The workshop will start with a quick overview of the types of intellectual property protection covered in a previous presentation, and the majority of the workshop focused on a real-life case study. A Q&A and short networking session will follow.
