Entrance Awards
In addition to the fellowships, the Faculty of Engineering also offers Dean's Entrance Awards (DEA), valued at $5,000, to highly qualified domestic applicants. The University of Waterloo along with the Faculty of Engineering also offer's the Provost Doctoral Entrance Award for Women (PDEAW), valued at $5,000, for outstanding full-time female doctoral students.
Top-up for Vanier/NSERC/CIHR Award holders
Tri-Agency (NSERC, CIHR, and SSHRC) award recipients will receive the President’s Graduate Scholarship top-up, valued in the Faculty of Engineering at $15,000 for each year you hold the award. $5,000 is coming from the University of Waterloo and $10,000 from the Faculty of Engineering. Any Fellowship recipients holding an Tri-Agency award shorter than their program time limit (i.e. 12 terms for PhD2) will continue to receive the fellowship in their final terms.
Minimum Funding
All full-time PhD applicant to whom an offer is made will receive minimum financial support of $30,000/year.
