Grebel Staff and Faculty Coffee Break

Why work at Grebel?

The Grebel workplace offers a close-knit community where we support our colleagues and take time to talk with each other. We gather for coffee break in the morning and often socialize over lunch. We work hard and go the extra mile because we’re passionate about what we do and we care about our students and our community. In our positive and collaborative workplace culture, someone is always willing to lend a helping hand or join in brainstorming a solution. We also like to have fun and celebrate milestones and accomplishments – usually with food!

The success of our institution’s programs, research and students hinges on our employees. Help us lead the way. Put your skills, vision and experience to work at Grebel.

As an employee, you will enjoy a defined-benefit pension plan, an extended health care plan, dental benefits and group life insurance. In addition, Grebel offers tuition benefits for employees and their children.

Career development

As a Grebel employee, you’ll enjoy access to many professional development opportunities such as workshops, lectures, courses and online modules. Faculty and staff at every level can take advantage of confidential career advisement and coaching through the Employee and Family Assistance Program.

Campus community

We provide a welcoming, inclusive environment where every member of our campus community can achieve their full potential. At UWaterloo, on-campus amenities include theatres, art galleries, full athletic facilities, extensive green space — including a 109-hectare environmental reserve — and more. Parents can take advantage of on-site child-care facilities, as well as children’s programs and summer camps.

One of Canada’s best cities

Grebel is proud to call Waterloo Region home. Situated approximately 100 kilometres west of Toronto and easily accessed via Highway 401, the Region blends big-city amenities with a small-town sense of community. Roughly 600,000 residents are spread across the thriving urban centres of Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge, as well as rural townships where horse-drawn Mennonite buggies are still a common sight.
