The Faculties of Engineering and Science are delighted to host an alumni reception in Boston, at Industrious, Back Bay on April 9, 2025. Enjoy food and refreshments while you personally connect (or reconnect) with your University of Waterloo classmates and hear the latest news from Science and Engineering. Special thanks to Larry Kim (BASc '00) for hosting us.

Watch as 12 outstanding Capstone teams compete for over $100k in prizes. These teams were shortlisted from over 50 entries representing most programs in the Faculty of Engineering. The Esch Awards support creative and entrepreneurial students in the pursuit of research and development and its commercialization for the benefit of Canada.

Rock This Town brings to life the exciting history of rock music concerts in KW from the 1960s and 1970s. An insider’s look into the gritty reality of building the local live music scene. This 70-minute documentary features interviews with music business pros plus performances by today’s musicians. Rock stars come and go but live music is here to stay!

The School of Architecture is excited to invite alumni who graduated in a year ending in a 0 or 5 for a special reunion celebration! For those with multiple degrees received from Waterloo Architecture, we invite you to count from your first degree awarded (i.e. 1980, 1985, 1990… etc.)

Join your classmates for a casual gathering in the afternoon at the Cambridge campus, where we’ll host a talk and a tour of Waterloo Architecture’s 2025 Masterworks exhibition on view in Riverside Gallery, featuring exemplary thesis projects from several recent architecture graduate students.

It's a full day of discovery at TronCon 2025! TronCon will coincide with the Mechatronics Capstone Design Symposium to give alumni an opportunity to view the newest batch of Capstone design projects (FYDPs) by fourth year mechatronics students, get involved in judging the capstone design projects, and reconnect with the Tron community at the event and at the dinner that follows. 

Waterloo Engineering recent alumni are invited to participate in an exclusive virtual conversation with Waterloo Engineering alumna, Lisa Tong (BASc ’01, Chemical Engineering), who recently published her book Hello (World) Me, a personal self-guided coach to self, awareness, understanding, and choices — to creating the life YOU want. 

Waterloo Engineering students and alumni are invited to participate in an exclusive in-person workshop with Waterloo Engineering alumnus Ron Ojanpera (BASc 1969, mechanical engineering). The “Working the Room” workshop is based on 50 years of Ron’s personal business experience.  

Please join us on the slopes to ski or snowboard at these exclusive and beautiful private resorts in the Blue Mountains (near Collingwood)! We’ll also be welcoming your classmates from the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Health and the Faculty of Science to join us on the hills.
