Rouge River Connection

Rouge River Connection

The Rouge River Connection has existed in some form or other for several decades. It is a music group that started out as The Rouge River Family Band in the late 70’s and has evolved into The Rouge River Connection which includes many of the same family members along with several friends from church. What connects us?  Why, the Rouge River itself!  But it’s not just geography that brings us together.  It’s the opportunity to share our music with each other and with our community in the Markham-Stouffville area.  We typically perform for fund raisers like the Black Creek Pioneer Village Mennonite Festival and other fund raising events such as Fraser Lake Camp and Give a Day for World AIDS.  Each one of us is involved in one of the Markham-Stouffville area Mennonite churches so we like to participate in worship events too.

As much as we love making music together, we’ve got our jobs and families keeping us busy most of the time.  Still, we look for opportunities to get together and to perform when we can.  We’ve even taken some time to record some of our tunes on a CD that came out last year!

Current members include Andrew Reesor-McDowell, Joanna Reesor-McDowell, Eugene Reesor, Jay Reesor, Charles Conrad, Cate Falconer, and honourary member, Steve McDowell. Deeply missed is John McDowell who passed away earlier this year.
