The 2014 Toyota Electric Vehicle Challenge demands high school students design and build their own electric car. Teams will compete in both 12 and 24 volt race and will participate in a design contest to prove their engineering know-how. Max Levchin is the CEO of Affirm, the next generation financial services company offering consumer credit at the point of sale. He is Chairman of Glow, a women's reproductive health application. Both companies were created and launched from Max Levchin's San Francisco based innovation lab, "HVF".
Pearl Sullivan, Waterloo's dean of engineering, announced March 31 that undergraduate students applying for Waterloo Engineering’s Accelerated Master’s program will be eligible for top up funding of $4,500 to supplement funding available through NSERC Student Research Awards.
