Ventures from the current MBET class will pitch their startups in a fast-paced but friendly pitch competition, vying for $1500 in prizes. Alumni will cast their ballots to choose a winner, followed by refreshments and reconnection with fellow alumni, faculty, and current students.

The tradition continues on July 14, 2017 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm to celebrate Engineering Day with our incredible community of students, alumni, professors and staff. This year's activities will include a colour throw (wear a white t-shirt!), BBQ featuring the famous 'Boggan Burgers, free treats and refreshments, a photo booth, purpling, The Tool and The Tool Bearers, and so much more!

OTSG IN POWER GENERATION AND ENERGY IN CANADA

Use of Once Through Steam Generators (OTSG) in power plants offers several unique advantages over traditional drum boilers which include smaller footprint, high turndown, fast start and simplified operator control. Commonly OTSGs are equipped with duct burners for additional steam capacity and emissions control equipment. When OTSGs are designed to operate in dry mode, the plant has maximum flexibility to match steam demand to process requirements.

The spring 2018 series of Research Talks celebrates research and provides an opportunity for staff, faculty, and students to learn more about some of the world-class research underway at Waterloo.

Nasser Mohieddin Abukhdeir, Associate Chair of Graduate Studies in the Department of Chemical Engineering, invites alumni of the CHE MASc and PhD programs to help us recognize and celebrate the Department of Chemical Engineering’s 2018 graduating class of Masters students’ accomplishments.
