As part of the Water Institute's WaterTalks lecture series, Professor John Hartig, Fulbright Scholar serving as the Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Global Governance at Balsillie School of International Affairs in Waterloo, presents, "Bringing Conservation to Cities: Lessons From Building the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge."

“From Waterloo to Etsy via Brazil and how PHP happened along the way”
by Rasmus Lerdorf (BASc 1993, Systems Design Engineering), Distinguished Engineer at Etsy

In this talk Dr. Fayçal Saffih presents his implementations of intelligence on Silicon Photonics to realize smart CMOS Image sensors from System (chip) level, down to Circuit level and finally down to Device (semiconductor). All these bio-inspired implementations are intended to mimic biological intelligence of vision systems to answer the stringent imaging requirements in biomedical imaging, remote/wireless imaging and inspection and security imaging to name a few applications.
