The Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) presents a seminar by Professor Wojciech Knap, Research Director at the Charles Coulomb Laboratory, Montpellier University and CNRS, France, and Institute of High Pressure Physics at the Polish Academy of Sciences Warsaw, Poland.
Abstract
The Centre for Bioengineering and Biotechnology (CBB) is pleased to partner with Grand River Hospital (GRH) to hold the inaugural Waterloo Region MED TECH Conference at the GRH Freeport Campus.
Hosted by Waterloo Engineering, the Waterloo Electric Vehicle (EV) Challenge encourages students to design and test their own electric car in an annual endurance competition. This years competition is scheduled for May 28, 2016. More than a dozen teams from around Ontario will attend this year's event.
UWaterloo Statistics Club and Data Science Club are jointly hosting an introductory talk on the Data Science framework and Machine Learning presented by Andrew Andrade. Andrew Andrade's background is in statistical manufacturing and data driven production optimization where he worked for start-ups and companies such as PetroCanada (Suncor) and Facebook before founding PetroPredict.

*Students will get (1) credit towards seminar attendance if they attend a session. (1) credit is the maximum you can earn. Each session is 1 hour or less. Students must fill out seminar attendance sheet and get it signed by faculty member in room at end of session. Poster session to be held between 11-12pm on 1st floor atrium. Please come out and support our students as they complete their milestone requirement.
The panel discussion will be focused on guiding UW researchers on how to engage with hospitals and how to succeed with clinical/academic partnerships. Specifically, the discussion will be centered on an overview of best practices when engaging hospitals, what clinicians are looking for in terms of collaboration, and how get the ball rolling. Light refreshments will be served.
