This fall term, for the first time ever, the Faculty of Engineering will be offering all of our graduate and professional level courses online. If you have you ever considered enhancing your knowledge in emerging trends and technology or have interest in upgrading a specific skill-set, this is a unique opportunity for you.
Special provisions have been made for our UWaterloo undergraduate alumni who wish to take a graduate level course online this fall as a non-degree student.

How to apply:
The Faculty of Engineering has made special provisions for our undergraduate alumni who wish to take an online graduate level course in the Fall 2020 term. The application deadline is August 1, 2020.
1. Alumni must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be a graduate of a University of Waterloo, Faculty of Engineering undergraduate program
- Have obtained at least a 75% overall average in your undergraduate degree or at least 75% in your last two years (20 credits) of study
Interested alumni should apply through OUAC as a non-degree part-time student to the Department from which they wish to take a course.
Note: There is a non-refundable application fee of $125 CAD
2. Applicants will be required to complete the following application materials:

- you will be required to identify which course(s) you are interested in taking, be sure to review the schedule of classes to ensure the course(s) you are interested in are being offered in the Fall 2020 term
- Resume (MME only)
Note: Your final UWaterloo transcript will automatically be uploaded by the University within a week of submitting your application – no additional action is required by you
3. References
- There are no reference requirements for students applying to ECE, MME, MSCI and SYDE.
For our alumni who wish to apply to CHE or CIVE, we will be waiving the reference requirement for Fall 2020 non-degree program applications. At the time of application, alumni will be required to provide 2-3 reference contacts (depending on the Department). Applicants should complete the referee portion of the application naming the Engineering Graduate Studies Office as the referee for each of the 2 or 3 references. Since a unique email addresses are required, the applicant should use the following as referee email addresses:

Applications will be reviewed by each Department and a decision rendered within 10-15 business days of being complete.
