Brave: A Concert Celebrating Courage, Compassion, and Community With Amanda Kind

Join local performer Amanda Kind and fellow UW alumni and current students for an evening of meaningful music in a variety of styles in support of a great cause. Everything from classical and jazz to Broadway showtunes and pop hits is on this diverse and entertaining concert including "The Rain is Over and Gone," "Seasons of Love," "Man in the Mirror," "Imagine," "Brave" and more.

Featuring a small ensemble choir, voice instructor Stephanie Kramer, and many other guest vocalists!

Noon Hour Concert: Venus in the Garden

Eviole [ay-vee-oh-lay] is a group of five musicians focusing on the music written in the 17th century (ish). The music from this time is astonishingly beautiful, grounded in text/poetry, deliciously intricate, and often quite cheeky. The group features Sheila Dietrich, soprano, Corey Linforth, soprano, Jennifer Enns Modolo, mezzo soprano, Borys Medicky, harpsichord, and Miriam Stewart-Kroeker, cello.

Noon Hour Concert: Passions for Guitar

Classical guitarist Celia Linde is acclaimed for her personal style, her captivating temperament and for her wide range of musical interpretations.  She tours frequently throughout Europe, the U.S., Canada, Finland, Scandinavia, Russia, and Turkey. As a recitalist Celia Linde has performed in numerous festivals and international concert Halls including the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and others.

The University of Waterloo Balinese Gamelan Ensemble will perform a selection of traditional and modern compositions.  First started in 2013, the ensemble led by artist-in-residence Dewa Suparta and Dr. Maisie Sum is expanding its repertoire and level every term.

University of Waterloo Choir: Festivals of Light

St. Lucia’s Day, Yi Ping, Diwali, Obon, Hanukkah, Advent and Christmas -- festivals of light.  Around the world, groups have fashioned holidays, festivals, and rituals around it. With these rituals come beautiful practices. The UW Choir will explore music from India, Japan, Thailand, and Sweden as well as Canadian traditional music for Advent and Christmas.  The UW Choir is directed by Dr. Gerard Yun.

orchestra@uwaterloo: Dancing with Dvorak concert

"Ah, music. A magic beyond all we do here."  JK Rowling
The orchestra@uwaterloo produces many such magical moments. Directed by Daniel Warren, students, staff, faculty and alumni from all faculties join together to play beautiful symphonic music.

This concert will feature the Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake Suite, Debussy's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, and Dvorak's Symphony No. 6 in D Major.

Free admission, tickets available at the door.

University of Waterloo Chamber Choir: Rejoice in the Lamb

Directed by Mark Vuorinen, this 25 voice choir will perform Benjamin Britten’s quirky cantata, Rejoice in the Lamb, set to the delightfully peculiar poetry of Christopher Smart. Organist Jan Overduin joins the choir in this program at Knox Presbyterian Church, Waterloo.  Music by Jan Sandström, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Tim Corlis, Franz Biebl and others completes the program.  Tickets are available at the door.
