Noon Hour Concert: The Ice is Cracking Under My Feet

EVA is a trio featuring cellist Vesa Norilo, kantele player, Anna-Karin Korhonen and soprano Essi Wuorela (Rajaton), all hailing from Helsinki, Finland. Their repertoire consists of traditional Finnish folk music as well as original music composed by members of EVA. Each member of the group brings a wealth of musical experience, having studied a wide range of styles from classical to jazz and folk.

Directed by Dr. Maisie Sum and featuring Grebel Artist-in-Residence I Dewa Made Suparta, the UW Balinese Gamelan and the Grebel Community Gamelan will perform a mix of contemporary pieces and traditional classics.  Come find out why people who love music are fascinated by the gamelan.

UWaterloo Jazz Ensemble Concert

jazz musiciansThe UWaterloo Jazz Ensemble will perform a mix of jazz standards from Gordon Goodwin, Count Basie, Wayne Shorter, Duke Ellington, and more.  Directed by well know percussionist Michael Wood, the ensemble consists of 15 UW jazz aficionados.
