Len Enns conducts the Chapel Choir
The Conrad Grebel Chapel Choir is embarking on a four-day whirlwind trip to Ohio, April 23-26, 2004. Stops on the tour include the Mennonite Church Eastern Canada Annual Conference in Leamington, Bluffton College, First Mennonite Church in Bluffton, Oak Grove Mennonite Church in Smithville, and Central Christian High School in Kidron. Having just finished their exams, the students will be ready to see new places and faces, and focus completely on their music.

The Conrad Grebel Chapel Choir is a group of 30 students who love singing as a form of worship. The Chapel Choir participates in the weekly chapel worship services at Grebel and also sings at many College functions and several churches and schools a year. The singers come mainly from the community of students at Grebel, but also include other students from the University of Waterloo who are interested in music and worship. The students, who study a wide range of subjects at Waterloo, are a representative picture of the energetic mix of people who form the student community at Conrad Grebel.

This tour features choral music for worship including a number of pieces by Canadian composers. Professor Leonard Enns, who is the conductor and an accomplished Canadian composer himself, says he is

excited about introducing audiences to singers and composers from up north, and sharing our love of music and worship with others.

Especially for our Ohio friends, the choir will be performing a new piece by choir member and Bluffton’s own Nate Gundy. Over the years, the Chapel Choir has released four recordings which will also be available on the tour.
