World renowned counter-tenor Daniel Cabena will sing Ralph Vaughan William's "Ten Blake songs", accompanied by Sarah Cardwell on the oboe. The oboe is a beautiful yet challenging instrument, a perfect counter point to the text of the songs. Canadian countertenor Daniel Cabena is highly regarded in both Canada and Europe for prize-winning performances ranging from baroque to contemporary repertoire. His gentle, elegant singing, and an especially fine sensitivity to the text paired with Sarah Cardwell's ability to produce lovely yet mysterious sounds will make this a concert not to be missed.
