Chemical engineering faculty ranked in top two per cent for research impact

Twenty faculty members from the Department of Chemical Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Waterloo have been recognized among the top 2 per cent of scholars worldwide for the impact of their research publications. This ranking was provided by ScholarGPS, a global analytics company that evaluates the influence of academic work.

The researchers were acknowledged in two categories: Chemical Engineering, and Engineering and Computer Science, demonstrating the wide-reaching impact of the department’s research in these fields.

ScholarGPS, a California-based company, applies advanced techniques including artificial intelligence, data mining, and machine learning to assess over 200 million publications and 3 billion citations.
