Every year, Conrad Grebel’s Convocation service is a culmination of the College’s central values of faith, scholarship, service and community, and a celebration of the students, professors, and community who live out these values each day. Degrees are granted in the Master of Theological Studies program, and achievements of University of Waterloo undergraduates who have participated in Grebel life are recognized.

In a bold move and example of visionary leadership fifty years ago, Milton R. Good spearheaded the establishment of Conrad Grebel College on the campus of the University of Waterloo. Together with Norman High, Harvey Taves, John W. Snyder, and Henry H. Epp, the dream of a residential college for Mennonite students studying at university in non-theological disciplines took shape.

Since it was established in 1963, Conrad Grebel University College has had a reputation among scholars and church leaders as a major center for the study of sixteenth century Anabaptism and Mennonite history. This standing is based on the distinguished scholarship of Walter Klaassen, Werner Packull, and Arnold Snyder, who retires in May 2011.

Waterloo, Ontario – Conrad Grebel University College is introducing a new summer camp that combines fun in the sun with a social justice twist. The college, in partnership with Interfaith Grand River and the House of Friendship at Sunnydale Community Centre, has kicked off its first-ever Peace Camp aimed at youth aged 11-14 in the Region of Waterloo.

At its April 28th meeting the Board of Governors of Conrad Grebel University College approved “The Next Chapter” capital campaign that will see a $6.3 million addition to the current academic building.

The Alumni Committee of Conrad Grebel University College is pleased to announce the selection of Betty Pries (Master of Theological Studies, 2005) as this year’s recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Service award.

In recent years, churches have repented for historical wrongs. In his new book, Ecclesial Repentance: The Churches Confront Their Sinful Pasts, Jeremy M. Bergen tells the story of these apologies and analyses the theological issues they raise about the nature and mission of the church.

For five senior Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS) students at the University of Waterloo, learning about refugee claimants in Canada is a journey that is leading them from the classroom to the theatre as they prepare to perform their culminating project, “Open? A Story of Refugee Claimants in Canada” on stage at the Conrad's Centre for the Performing Arts on April 1st, 2011.

Waterloo, Ontario — Conrad Grebel University College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Susan Schultz Huxman as its seventh president. The Board of Governors accepted the unanimous recommendation of the Presidential Search Committee at its March 10, 2011 meeting.

It started as an altruistic dream, but almost two years later, a vision for a cleaner and greener Grebel has been realized.
