Instrumental ensembles

Auditions are open for Fall 2019 Instrumental Ensembles.  You may take these for credit (.25 units on top of regular course load) or as an extracurricular activity.  Ensembles are open to all University of Waterloo students.

Balinese Gamelan Ensemble Demo in Rock Garden

Gamelan in Rock GardenJoin us for a University of Waterloo Balinese Gamelan Ensemble mini-concert and demonstration on Friday, September 6th at noon.  The Peter Russell Rock Garden is a lovely place to enjoy even a few minutes of music.  Stay after the concert and try a few instruments yourself.

Noon Hour Concert: Touring Europe

Joseph Lanza, violinPlaying on period instruments, violinist Joseph Lanza and harpsichordist Borys Medicky will play a selection of classical music from Europe.  Lanza is a professor at Western University, and the concertmaster of the London Symphonium.  Medicky is an internationally known harpsichordist, who also does repairs and builds instruments as a side line.  Borys Medicky

Public Talk | Canada's Indochinese Refugee Program: Policy Innovation and Societal Change

Micheal Molloy talk invitation

Michael Molloy is co-author of Running on Empty: Canada and the Indochinese Refugee Movement 1975-80, and has 40 years’ experience in international and refugee affairs. In 1979 and 1980 he coordinated the Indochinese refugee program that brought 60,000 refugees to Canada. Molloy is Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University, and is president of the Canadian Immigration Historical Society.
