University ChoirThe human voice is an incredible instrument, not only capable of carrying text, but also showcasing many different sounds to convey emotion or create atmosphere. Voicescapes will explore some of these capabilities, featuring music by composers such as Jaakko Mäntyjärvi, Stephen Hatfield, Morten Lauridsen, and Sarah Hopkins.

Fairy Tales & Legends: orchestra@uwaterloo concert

orchestra@uwaterlooA moving concert of vocal and instrumental music inspired by magical tales and legends.  The music ranges from the enchanting "Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty" ballets by Tchaikovsky to arias from Mozart's "Magic Flute" and Massenet's "Cinderella", as well as orchestral music from Gounod's "Faust" and the great Can-Can from "Orpheus in the Underworld".

Auditions are open for Fall 2019 Instrumental Ensembles.  You may take these for credit (.25 units on top of regular course load) or as an extracurricular activity.  Ensembles are open to all University of Waterloo students.

Gamelan in Rock GardenJoin us for a University of Waterloo Balinese Gamelan Ensemble mini-concert and demonstration on Friday, September 6th at noon.  The Peter Russell Rock Garden is a lovely place to enjoy even a few minutes of music.  Stay after the concert and try a few instruments yourself.
