Comprehensive Exams

Minimum requirements for the PhD degree are set by Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs (GSPA). You should familiarize yourself with these regulations. The section on comprehensive exams explains the purpose, timing, requirements, and outcomes of the examinations commonly referred to as "stage two comprehensives" or "PhD comprehensive II'.

Your department may have additional milestones you must meet. Please refer to the department websites for detailed information on the comprehensive requirements for your program. 

Academic Integrity Acknowledgement Form: Graduate Students in the Faculty of Mathematics who are required to submit a written thesis proposal as part of their Comprehensive Exam must complete the following Academic Integrity Acknowledgement form.
