Application for USRA/MURA Supervisor or Project

If you intend to apply for one of the following two undergraduate research awards, please fill out the form at the bottom of the page to be connected with a potential Faculty of Mathematics supervisor/project.  

Once a supervisor for your award is matched and confirmed, you will proceed to the next step in the application process, described by the corresponding department in Undergraduate Student Research Awards section.

  • Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada: Undergraduate Student Research Awards (NSERC USRA) 
    • USRAs are meant to nurture your interest and fully develop your potential for a research career in the natural sciences and engineering (NSE). They are also meant to encourage you to undertake graduate studies in these fields by providing research work experience that complements your studies in an academic setting. NSERC encourages qualified Indigenous students to apply for this award.
  • Mathematics Undergraduate Research Award (MURA)

    • The Mathematics Undergraduate Research Award (MURA) is a research award sponsored by the Faculty of Mathematics. It is an opportunity for undergraduate students to nurture interest and develop potential for a research career in an area of mathematics, gain research experience that complements their studies in an academic setting and receive financial support from the Faculty of Mathematics, and potentially gain interest in pursuing graduate studies.

These projects are currently accepting interested students; please note your desired project on the application form if you are interested in joining one.
