Amélie Bélanger, Director, Global Analytics & Financial Engineering, Global Banking and Markets, Scotiabank

Amélie was appointed Director in the Global Analytics & Financial Engineering Group, Global Banking and Markets in 2019. In this role, Amélie is responsible for providing quantitative support for regulatory projects across the Bank.

Amélie started her career in finance as an intern working in New York at a large US bank in 2008. In 2009, Amélie joined the Global Analytics & Financial Engineering (GAFE) group at Scotiabank as a junior team member supporting the Equity Derivatives business. Amélie’s role within the group evolved from providing daily support to the trading desk to developing and enhancing the pricing library for Equity Derivatives models. In her current role, Amélie leads a team within GAFE whose mandate is to develop new models or enhance existing models to meet the requirements of the Bank’s regulatory projects.

Amélie holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo and lives in Toronto with her family
