Graduating with "Dean's Honours"
In recognition of outstanding academic records throughout their undergraduate careers, all students who graduate with a honours Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS) or Bachelor of Mathematics (BMath) degree, and have a Cumulative Average (CAV) of at least 87% are eligible to graduate with "Dean's Honours."
Graduating with "Distinction"
In recognition of distinguished academic achievement throughout their undergraduate careers, all students who graduate with a honours Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS) or Bachelor of Mathematics (BMath) degree and a CAV of at least 80% are eligible to graduate with "Distinction."
This notation appears on official University transcripts and diplomas.
*Students convocate from the University of Waterloo and Faculty of Mathematics in October and June each year. Students graduating with Distinction or with Deans Honours can find their names here shortly before their Convocation ceremony.
