Troy Vasiga and J.P. Pretti have wrapped up their time with "Team Canada" at the 25th International Olympiad in Informatics in Brisbane, Australia.
Approximately 80 countries and 300 students participated. Contestants competed by writing computer programs to solve challenging algorithmic tasks on two five-hour days of competition.
Team Canada members are happy to return home with a silver medal and two bronze medals achieved by our team of Calvin Deng, Andy Huang, Angus Kong and Yuanhao Wei. All four of these students recently finished grade 12 and two of them will begin studies in Waterloo's Faculty of Mathematics this fall.
Congratulations to these four students for making us proud!
