Carolyn Schuetz, Global Chief Operating Officer, Group Retail Banking and Wealth Management HSBC Holdings PLC

Carolyn Schuetz is the Chief Operating Officer of Group Retail Banking and Wealth Management for HSBC Holdings PLC. Headquartered in London, HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial organizations in the world.

Carolyn has held increasingly senior roles at HSBC since 2004 in Canada and the UK. Before taking on her current role, Carolyn was Global Chief Operating Officer for Wealth Management.

Carolyn began her career in PwC’s assurance practice and attained the Chartered Accountant designation in 1988. She earned her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1993 and spent three years working with Charles Schwab in San Francisco before co-founding Cypress Knowledge where she advised senior executives from early stage financial services and technology companies on strategy, funding and business development.

Carolyn is a Member of the Board of HSBC Retirement Services Limited. She previously served on the Boards of the European Financial Management Association and HSBC International Financial Advisors (UK) Limited. Carolyn was also a member of the University of Waterloo’s Campaign Planning Committee.

Carolyn graduated with a BMath in Math/Chartered Accounting (Information Systems) from the University of Waterloo in 1986.
