Please join us in Village 1 for a Career Presentation featuring Math Faculty alumni. Take advantage of a special "package deal" for future Math Faculty families, including an end-of-day tour of V1 residence, a University residence dinner, and an opportunity to connect with Math alumni who will share information about their career paths and work experiences.
Itinerary
9 am - 4:30 pm Visit the Faculty of Mathematics March Break Open House website for details about the information-packed day designed for applicants.
4:30 - 5:00 pm A Math Faculty tour guide will take you from M3, after the Euclid Contest problems workshop, to Village 1, a traditional main-campus residence.
4:45 - 5:45 pm- Complete your tour of V1 residence (approx 25 minutes.) Then you will be guided to either the V1 Great Hall to relax before dinner or the V1 food court, called "Mudie's" to pick up the food of your choice. Average dinner cost is $12 per person. Please note that payment is by cash only at the checkout.
5:00 - 6:00 pm - Enjoy your dinner in the V1 Great Hall. You will have the opportunity to talk with alumni and senior Math Faculty students who will join us for diner too.
6:00 - 7:00 pm - Welcome message from V1 staff. Then the Math Faculty Alumni Career Panel: while you finish dinner the alumni will describe their time at Waterloo, their current jobs, the paths they took to get to their current jobs, and advice for students looking ahead

Math Faculty Alumni
Jeffrey Baer
Jeffrey is the Director of Advanced Analytics at Economical Insurance in Kitchener, ON.
Jeffrey graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2012 with a degree in Mathematics, majoring in Statistics & Actuarial Sciences.
Beric Farmer
Beric is the Co-Founder of XE.com.
XE.com helps hundreds of millions of people annually from all around the globe to gain transparency, make better decisions, and have better options in addressing their foreign currency exchange needs.
Beric has a Bachelor of Mathematics degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo.
David Martindale
David is the Personal Lines Pricing Manager, Western Region, for Economical Insurance. After graduating with a degree in actuarial science, David became an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society, and has continued his career in the field of Actuarial Science, from pricing to advanced analytics.
Jennifer Nguyen
Jennifer works as part of the Data Science team at the Globe and Mail where she helps to measure the health of the company using Big Data. The work spans the full analytics spectrum, from business intelligence (i.e., how is the company performing?) to predictive analytics.
Amy Tailby
Amy is an Awards Specialist at Aeryon Labs Inc. in Waterloo, ON.
Amy has a Bachelor of Mathematics degree in Combinatorics & Optimization from the University of Waterloo.
