Course equivalencies and admissions

Admissions consideration for full-time regular studies in the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo will be given to current Taylor’s University College students with a grade point average of at least 3.0 and a grade point average of at least 3.7 in their math courses. Admission consideration for full-time co-op studies requires students to have a grade point average of 3.7 and a grade point average of 3.7 in their math courses. Limited enrollment programs may have additional requirements.

English language requirements

You are required to provide an English proficiency test score if your first language is not English and your four most recent years of full-time education have not been in an English-language school system.

Course equivalency guide

The transfer credit chart includes all Taylor’s courses that have been approved for transfer credit consideration alongside the corresponding University of Waterloo courses. The Admissions Committee in the Faculty of Mathematics may change the course equivalency guide without notification.

Students must attain a minimum grade of C in a course in order to receive transfer credit consideration. Grades earned in transferred courses will not be used in calculating your UWaterloo cumulative average. Each Taylor’s University College course accepted for transfer credit will count as 0.5 units at UWaterloo. Students transferring into the Faculty of Mathematics are eligible to receive a maximum of 10.0 units of transfer credits. To be eligible for co-op, at the time of admission students will have successfully completed no more than 3.0 units of math transfer credits and between 4.0 and 6.0 units of transfer credits in total. Students must complete at least one full year at Taylor’s University College prior to attending the University of Waterloo.
