Why Waterloo?
I decided to study actuarial science when I was in grade 11. After doing a massive amount of research, I decided to come to UW to make my dream come true since UW is well known for its actuarial program. After I visited the campus, I was amazed by the positive study atmosphere and I was very certain that UW is my dream university.
Advice for first-year students
I think the key to success in university is to have a balance in life. It is very important to have a social life other than just go to class and study. Joining clubs is the most effective way of making connections with peers and upper-year students. This way, you will find students in the same program as you and you will have a study buddy at all time.
