Why Waterloo?
I personally like the academic oriented environment at uWaterloo, and I enjoy being surrounded by motivated, high-achieving people. I believe such an environment could remind me of what kind of person I want to be, and bring me a step closer to that.
Advice for first-year students
Explore the possibilities and potentials! Everybody is good at something, but by stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new, you may find new interests and passions that you never knew you had. A great way you can do this is by taking electives from other faculties, which of course, is mandatory for most of you. The important thing is, do not focus too much on how good you are at certain subjects, but how much you may enjoy learning about other new topics.
