The Faculty of Mathematics Research Office recently announced its 2022 recipients of the Golden Jubilee Research Excellence Award.

The faculty’s Community Health and Well-being team has released its 2022-27 Health and Well-being Strategy.

The new strategy was developed in consultation with the Student Health and Well-being Committee, Employee Health and Well-being Committee and various campus stakeholders.

The University of Waterloo 2022 Global Impact Report has been released and features several researchers from the Faculty of Mathematics.

The Global Impact Report is an annual publication of the university and sets out to showcase some of the cutting-edge innovations by Waterloo faculty members and students.

Mathematics has historically been a multicultural project. It is a constantly evolving discipline that requires a diverse set of viewpoints and outlooks to grow.

The Waterloo Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute (CPI) is hosting an upcoming talk featuring two researchers from the Department of Combinatorics and Optimization. The event is on the subject "Are we ready for the quantum era" and is scheduled to take place February 28, 6:30-8:00 pm.

Pivot-RP is a new searchable database of research funding opportunities for Waterloo researchers, purchased and supported by the Office of Research and launched in August 2021.  

A few years ago, one of Trisha Kothari’s sisters asked their aging grandmother a thought-provoking question: “If you were reborn into our generation, what would you do with your life?”

Their grandmother, Barji, who had grown up in India at a time when women had few rights and even fewer opportunities, wasted no time answering.

“Oh, I’d definitely not get married. I would study and start a business,” she told her.

Giving Tuesday is a one-day celebration of generosity, designated for organizations in the non-profit, education and charitable sectors to make a broad appeal to donors. The University of Waterloo has participated in the annual event since 2014.

The Faculty of Mathematics has been involved in a joint initiative to increase academic diversity, which has now expanded from six universities in Ontario to 12 institutions across the country.
