The University of Waterloo 2022 Global Impact Report has been released and features several researchers from the Faculty of Mathematics.

The Global Impact Report is an annual publication of the university and sets out to showcase some of the cutting-edge innovations by Waterloo faculty members and students.

A few years ago, one of Trisha Kothari’s sisters asked their aging grandmother a thought-provoking question: “If you were reborn into our generation, what would you do with your life?”

Their grandmother, Barji, who had grown up in India at a time when women had few rights and even fewer opportunities, wasted no time answering.

“Oh, I’d definitely not get married. I would study and start a business,” she told her.

The Faculty of Mathematics’ health and well-being committees are building on the success of their September events with new ways to get involved in October.

September saw the launch of the Living Wellness Campaign, which had some 200 participants attend the planned physical wellness activities. Faculty members, staff and students took part in yoga, Zumba, wall climbing and an eat-well workshop.
