Four awards, valued at $1,000 each, are presented annually to the top male and female graduate and undergraduate student athletes. These awards are funded by a donation made possible by Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited.
Each recipient must have been a qualified student athlete during the preceding academic year, and must not previously have been granted this award or the Fairfax Financial Athlete Leadership Scholarship. Candidates will be identified by the Department of Athletics and selection will be made by the Department of Athletics in consultation with the Student Awards & Financial Aid Office, or the Graduate Studies Office, as applicable.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples.
